Our Story

It started with a question about sleep.

We spend eight hours a night in close contact with our bedding. Why does it feel worse over time instead of better?

Delara

"Close to the heart" — Persian

Home has always been a place of comfort, connection, and belonging. Delara was founded to bring that feeling to the place where it matters most — your sleep. Because the hours you spend resting shape every waking hour that follows.

The Insight

Most bedding is designed for a shelf, not for how sleep actually works.

The more we looked at what people sleep on, the more a pattern emerged. Comforters that trap heat after the first hour. Pillows that flatten within months. Sheets that stiffen with washing. Mattress pads made from foam that breaks down and sleeps hotter over time.

Nearly all of it was engineered around cost and aesthetics — not around temperature regulation, pressure relief, or how materials perform through a full night of sleep.

That gap became the reason Delara exists. Not to add another bedding brand to the market, but to build sleep essentials around the three things that most affect how you rest: temperature, support, and feel.

The Journey

How Delara came to be.

Not a timeline of dates — but the decisions that shaped what we make and why.

The Question

Why does bedding get worse over time?

Most bedding is designed for showroom feel, not long-term use. Over time, poor temperature control, moisture buildup, and pressure imbalance reduce comfort and sleep quality.

The Discovery

Natural fibers outperform synthetics.

Merino wool regulates temperature, cotton softens with washing, and bamboo wicks moisture. When properly constructed, natural fibers consistently outperform synthetics in comfort and durability.

The Standard

We set the bar at certified, not just "natural."

We use trusted certifications like GOTS, OEKO-TEX®, Fair Trade, and USDA Organic to ensure materials are safe, responsibly made, and meet strict global quality standards.

The Model

Better materials shouldn’t mean prices.

By sourcing directly, reducing intermediaries, and optimizing logistics, we make premium, certified materials more accessible without compromising quality, performance, or long-term durability.

The Direction

From products to a sleep system.

Our products are designed to work together—supporting temperature regulation, pressure relief, and breathability—creating a complete sleep system that enhances comfort from start to deep sleep.

What Drives Us

Principles, not slogans.

These aren't brand values on a wall. They're the criteria we use to decide what to make, what materials to use, and what to say no to.

How We Work

Better sleep starts before the product reaches you.

Direct from source

We work directly with certified manufacturers — no middlemen, no unnecessary markup. Materials like New Zealand Merino wool and GOTS-certified cotton are sourced in bulk for consistency and value.

Fair Trade production

We choose to partner with Fair Trade Certified™ suppliers — ensuring the people who make your bedding work in safe conditions with fair wages. This is a choice, not a requirement. We think it's the right one.

Smart logistics

Streamlined packaging, efficient shipping routes, and reduced transportation overhead. Lower costs for us means better prices for you — without sacrificing product protection or presentation.

A Note from Our Founder

To anyone reading this

I started Delara because I couldn't find what I was looking for. I wanted bedding made from materials that actually performed — that regulated temperature, held their shape, and felt better after a year of use, not worse. What I found instead were brands selling certifications as a substitute for comfort, or selling comfort built on materials that broke down in months.

So we built something different. Every product we make is held to one standard: does this improve how someone sleeps? Not how it photographs. Not how it sounds in an ad. How it performs at 2 a.m. when your body is trying to regulate and rest.

We're not where we want to be yet. We're building toward a complete sleep system — every layer working together from the moment you wind down to the deepest phase of your sleep. But even today, every product we ship is made from certified natural materials, constructed with care, and designed to last for years.

Thank you for trusting us with your rest. It's not something we take lightly.

Where We're Going

We're building toward a complete sleep system.

Our goal is simple: every layer of your sleep — from the moment you wind down to the deepest phase of rest — working together as one coherent system. Natural materials, thoughtful construction, real sleep outcomes.

We're not there yet. But every product we add, every material we test, and every construction we refine moves us closer to that vision.

Rest built around how you sleep.
