Our Certifications
Why Certifications Matter
The proof behind how it feels.
When we say our cotton is organic, our wool is clean, or our production is fair — there's an independent, third-party standard behind every claim. These certifications verify the full supply chain, from raw fiber to finished product.
They're also the reason our materials perform the way they do. Organic fibers are naturally softer and more breathable. Tested-safe production means no chemical residues disrupting your sleep. Fair conditions produce better craftsmanship. The certification isn't separate from the product — it's built into it.
Why It Matters
Certifications aren't the headline. They're the foundation.
Common Questions
Certifications, explained.
What's the difference between GOTS and OEKO-TEX?
GOTS verifies the entire organic supply chain — from how the fiber is grown to how the product is assembled. OEKO-TEX tests the finished product for harmful substances. They complement each other: GOTS ensures organic integrity, OEKO-TEX ensures chemical safety. Many Delara products carry both.
Don't most bedding brands have these certifications?
Very few carry all five simultaneously. Many brands carry one (often OEKO-TEX, which is the most common). Far fewer carry GOTS, which requires the full supply chain to be organic-certified — not just the finished fabric. And Fair Trade Certified production is a deliberate choice that adds cost and complexity. The combination of GOTS + OEKO-TEX + Fair Trade + USDA Organic + GRS across our product range is genuinely rare in the bedding industry.
Are all Delara products certified?
All Delara products carry at least one of our five certifications, and most carry multiple. The specific certifications vary by product — for example, our organic cotton sheets carry GOTS + OEKO-TEX + USDA Organic, while our down alternative products carry GRS + OEKO-TEX. Each product page lists its specific certifications.
Can I verify Delara's certifications independently?
Yes. Our GOTS certification is publicly listed on the GOTS database — you can search for Delara and view our certificate number, scope, and auditing body. OEKO-TEX certifications are similarly verifiable through the OEKO-TEX Buying Guide. We believe in full transparency.
Do certifications actually affect how the product feels?
Directly, yes. Organic fibers (GOTS, USDA Organic) are naturally softer because they aren't chemically processed. Chemical-free production (OEKO-TEX) means no residual coatings that stiffen over time. Skilled production under fair conditions (Fair Trade) means more precise construction. The certifications aren't separate from the product quality — they're a reason for it.
