Meet Our Founder
Home has always been my sanctuary, a place of comfort and connection. I founded Delara to bring that feeling to others through thoughtfully crafted, sustainable essentials. The idea began to take shape during my MBA when I came across a case study revealing that the textile industry is one of the world’s largest polluters, responsible for 10% of global CO2 emissions. I realized that while changing consumer perceptions and habits around fast fashion might be difficult, there was another area with significant potential for impact: everyday home products, where a vast amount of textiles are used.
This realization hit home as I was moving out of my apartment. I noticed piles of discarded towels, bedding, mattresses, and rugs—all items thrown away far too easily. I began to wonder why these essentials were discarded so often. Were they not made to last, or had their designs simply become outdated? This observation drove me to research deeper into the industry and explore how home products are made, used, and discarded.
What I found was disheartening. Many brands that claimed to be “organic” were not entirely sustainable, and those that were truly committed to sustainability were often priced beyond reach for regular customers. I realized that the only way to make sustainability truly pervasive was to create home products that are natural and durable, combining the quality people expect with prices they can afford.
Delara was born from this vision: to craft beautiful, eco-friendly home essentials that stand the test of time, bring comfort to every home, and are accessible to all. Because true comfort should never come at the expense of our planet, and sustainability should be a choice available to everyone.
